RIP

RIPWay to go ABC. You canceled one of the best shows on TV. LOSERS. And I didn't even get to do my Pushing Daisies entry.

Silly rabbit...

So, I went food shopping the other day and am now off my Multi-Grain Cheerios kick. I'm onto something just as good, and just as special. It is.... *drumroll* KIX! Kix are for kids, guys. Ok, wrong commercial. But Kix are good. Somewhat low in sugar, but still tasty. See: picture.

I had it for dinner last night and enjoyed it whilst watching 90210 (don't judge).

Don't act like you're not jealous!

This is going to be a lame blog, but here's a preview of my next one in which I talk about a special show nobody is watching (otherwise it wouldn't be on the chopping block! What is wrong with this world?) Hint: It has to do with something I'd do for dinner everyday if I could.
Dudes, get your mind out of the gutter, I'd do pie everyday for dinner if I could. But The Piemaker is nice too. RAWR.

I eat books for lunch.

Sometimes on my lunch break I'll go to the Borders by Madison Square Garden and browse. I do this for a multitude of reasons, but for about 2 weeks this summer I went there everyday and read. It all started when I found an empty plush chair on the side of the escalator (which doesn't happen very often). I sat down with a couple books I was looking at and started reading. In that 2 weeks I actually read a whole book. Is that considered stealing? The chairs are there, other people do it, nobody stopped me. I'm not really sure.

Another thing I love about Borders is the Seattle's Best Maple White Mocha. I swear, first God made the Earth, then he made maple white mocha. It's definitely sweet, but it tastes like fall in a tall coffee cup. Yum.

I don't know if most people have a Borders Rewards card, but if you shop there and don't, you definitely should. I get coupons in my email every week for a discount on books, music, or dvd's. It's a free program and another reason I love Borders.

Also, I must admit, I did not eat cereal for dinner last night. Instead, due to my horrible sore throat/sinus infection, I decided to eat ice cream. I realized that I rarely eat real food for dinner. It's usually cereal, or popcorn, or an apple, or ice cream, or something similar.

The blog in which I talk about public transportation

Ah, the joys of public transportation. If you've never experienced it before, you're definitely missing out. I take the subway to and from work everyday. Usually I transfer to an express train because I'm pretty much always running late. This is good in that it shaves about 10 minutes off my commute to work, which means I'm 10 minutes less late than I would be had I stayed on the local train. It's bad though because it's usually packed.

Today was no exception. I am really tired today. Not just normal tired, but whole body tired. Like, my arms ache to hold up my book or hold onto the pole. I think it's because of yoga on Wednesday which I have a love/hate relationship with. Anyway, so today I was just thinking how great it would be for someone sitting down to leave the train so I could sit. Lo and behold, on the Atlantic Avenue stop the person sitting in front of me left. I don't think I've ever been so happy to sit down.

I pretty much sighed happily as I sunk down on the plastic seat and nestled into the germ ridden side rail (hey, it's not like I licked it or something). I thought to myself "Ah, shit yes. I have never needed a seat so much in the morning as I do now." I was content.

I thought someone was gonna have to pry me out of the seat when I got to my stop and I imagined a giant spatula slipping under me and lifting me up. This is how my mind works.

Anyway, it was a good ride, but most of the time, getting on the subway makes me want to throw myself onto the third rail. So, I give you my list of Top 5 Annoying Things about the subway in order of frequency.

1. People listening to their iPods too loud.
  • This is most annoying when you can hear theirs over your own. I'm sorry but I don't want to hear "bum, bum, chhh, bum, bum chhhh" or your Celine Dion playlist. Turn that crap down.
2. People chewing gum loudly.
  • Are we seeing a pattern with the noises thing? I think so. I swear, I want to rip the gum out of the people's mouth and say "didn't your momma ever teach you manners?"
3. People leaning on one of the poles in a packed subway train.
  • I usually end up pushing my hand onto the pole in a really uncomfortable spot so they'll move.

4. People's purses/bags.
  • I swear, bags are getting bigger exponentially. I seriously saw this girl with a bag the size of herself. I'm not kidding. It almost hit the floor. Is that really necessary?
  • And when you push me with your bag, I just might hit you.

5. I'm sad to even say that I've seen this 3+ times in the past month, but when people cut their nails on the train.
  • Seriously? You're seriously cutting your nails? Really? Disgusting.
So that is all. This morning did not have any of the above 5, thank God.

The blog in which I blog about blogging

I decided to start a blog because I thought it would be fun. Hopefully it will be interesting enough for people to read and not too interesting to where it will come back and haunt me.

A little about me: I'm Lindsey, I'm a Michigan native living in Brooklyn and working in Manhattan in marketing. I enjoy hanging out with cool people (and by cool I mean dorky), I like to eat popcorn (and by popcorn I mean Cadillac 5 Theater popcorn), I try to do things (and by things I mean, art, photography, writing and blogging). I also eat cereal for dinner about 4+ times a week. Mulitgrain Cheerios are a gift from God.
